Idiots….!
February 22nd, 2009 at 7:02 pm
Lol. Idk why….
February 24th, 2009 at 12:05 pm
It’s a conundrum, eh?
February 27th, 2009 at 8:03 am
ummmm DUH the water is cold when it enters the heater
March 2nd, 2009 at 2:22 pm
ha i never realized that.
good thing i dont say that……okay maybe i do
March 5th, 2009 at 7:56 pm
‘Cause boilers heat the water causing steam to rise and heat the heater up.
March 8th, 2009 at 11:26 am
i don’t … O.o
March 9th, 2009 at 1:19 pm
the water is not always hot….it depends on the temp you keep it on…so if you have it all the way down it would be super cold….
March 10th, 2009 at 10:41 am
actually you’re right! they should be called “cold water heaters”!
let’s start a revolution to get the name changed
March 11th, 2009 at 1:43 pm
What I’m kinda confused. You mean a hot water bottle or a hot water heater that’s in your house?
Well I’ll just answer both.
Hot water bottle keeps the water hot!
and the hot water heater in your house does the same thing. Lol!
‘Cause first it’s cold, then warms the water up to make it hot. Then it just keep it heated.
March 14th, 2009 at 6:50 am
cold water heaters….don’t sound right either……hmm……
March 14th, 2009 at 7:34 am
no they heat you not the water
March 14th, 2009 at 7:53 am
it holds hot water so thats why its hot when u turn on your faucet
do u ever hear it turn on after u get out of the shower?
March 17th, 2009 at 12:45 am
because that’s where the water is heated it goes in cold come out hot therefore heater
March 19th, 2009 at 7:08 pm
maybe because it needs heaters so it “stays” hot?
March 22nd, 2009 at 6:40 am
No one else seems to get it, but you make a good point, why not just water heaters or hot water makers? And some answers are confusing the hot water heater with the boiler or steam furnace.
March 23rd, 2009 at 11:23 am
i know! i wondered that when i was like in 3rd grade!
March 24th, 2009 at 1:22 am
Hmmmmm………………
March 24th, 2009 at 5:17 am
The water is not already hot…
March 26th, 2009 at 12:17 am
Hee hee. Water doesn’t start out hot silly! The flame (pilot light) on the underside of the waterheater kicks on when the temp of the water falls below a certain degree and electricity and gas combo fuels the components that heats the water.
There is a different set up called “on demand”, where the water is heated only as you need it. It’s supposed to save energy because the water only gets heated when you need it instead of sitting around hot all day just waiting for someone to use it. See?
I think you’ve got a point tho, we really should call them COLD WATER HEATERS. !! Since that is how it starts out! Good point!
March 27th, 2009 at 10:17 pm
I think they mean “hot” water heaters. Some people just aren’t attracted to humans, they find water heaters more attractive.
March 29th, 2009 at 7:31 am
ha ha um…………. idk cuz they think the water was ugly before n now they make it hot n they bring on the heat!!!
March 30th, 2009 at 8:04 pm
My husband is a plumber, and thy are called water heaters, but people don’t get it ! I’ll just let them figure it out!
April 1st, 2009 at 11:49 am
It IS redundant! they are water heaters because, as you said, if the water is already hot, there would be no need to heat it!
I think it is funny that some people did not get this very insightful question, but I got it and I agree with you 100%!!!
